I know that ‘My Virtual Balcony’ is still under construction and I am in the process of getting everything organized, e.g., ‘ABOUT ME’ Page, Category List, learning how to design/personalize my Blog page. Most importantly, I will learn to prioritize my daily routine to write on a daily basis. To help you understand one of my stumbling block, obstacle, brick-wall; I am currently working on a murder mystery, for over 20 years.
Years ago, I was a member of the ‘Romance Writers Guild of America’, reading every serial romance, (e.g., Silhouette, Harlequin, to name a few), and attempted to write one. I had entered the annual contest for unpublished writers & had received praise, even making the semi-round one year. Twenty-some years later, I am still unpublished, with more than one unfinished manuscript.
A few months ago, I came across a few old letters from published authors, all whom had graciously agreed to read & review my manuscripts. One letter hit home; she stated, “…You have the talent, but at some point you are going to have to make a decision, stop asking writers to read your work and offer advice. Take a chance and start submitting to agents, as they are the only ones that actually have the authority to offer the advice to help get published, and or send a request for the rest of the manuscript…[sic].”
That was the day I realized/faced the fact that I was scared to try or scared to succeed. I decided if I started a Blog, I would force myself to overcome that obstacle and at the same time start writing on a daily basis. While I am going to continue to write the murder mystery manuscript, I probably won’t putting that into the blog, however, as I write this I am thinking maybe it would be a good idea. I could write it as a continuing story, hopefully, I will find some followers that will enjoy the story line, add some helpful tips, make some suggestions and follow my success or failure…
I also plan to write some ‘Do-It-Yourself’ types/projects, recipes and share stories of my mixed-up complicated, humorous life as a blonde female with Multiple Sclerosis, who was legally blind at one time. If you think, there is a blonde joke I haven’t heard, please share; however, I never heard so many blonde jokes as when I was ‘legally’ blind! What can I say; I make it so easy for my friends love me!
So, please, if I have not written anything for several weeks, do not forget about me. I promise that by the end of the year I will have a handle on this ‘Blogging’ world… In the meantime, if anyone has any comments, please I would love to hear them.
Too bad, there is not a ‘POKE ME’ feature; maybe that would get my attention?
Tomorrow, I plan to share my “Pineapple Upside Down Cake Jell-O shot’. I found the original recipe on Facebook, however, I felt something was missing, and after several variations, my friends and I all agree that it is good. One thing to remember when eating this Jell-O shot, it is not a ‘regular’ Jell-O shot; the texture is different due to adding a pineapple chunk & half a maraschino cherry.
